Captain’s Putting Green Project

Captain’s Putting Green Project

Phase 1 of the putting green improvement project is scheduled to start on Monday 20th. April (see work in progress already!). This involves the removal of the Leylandii trees from around the putting green and will include those screening trees between the putting green and the Greenkeeper’s store also those by the club car park. This is necessary as the shade generated together with the root structure is inhibiting the drainage function of the putting green.

Around nine trees will be offered to Club members, seven very large trees @ £50 and two or three smaller Castlewellans @ £40 [these will be grouped together]. The generated income will be put towards the painting and screening of the Greenkeeper’s Machinery Store.

Those interested in purchasing the wood/trees should register their interest in the office where a list is being compiled. Priority will be given to those members who missed out on the recent 17/18 fairway clearance.Depending on interest, trees will be allocated in single trees rather than multiple purchases. Please register your interest asap, preferably by the weekend of 26th-27th April.
