Tandragee Telegraph Edition 17

The Tandragee 400 Club Committee is delighted to announce that a new ‘greens roller’ has been ordered to improve the surface and speed of our greens. It was highlighted in the recent club survey that members wanted to see faster, smoother greens and in support of this the investment in the Tru-Turf roller has been authorised. Testing of the machine took place on a number of the greens last week and the feedback from members who followed it was very positive indeed. This state of the art roller is used at many of the PGA Tour venues in the United States and European Tour courses in Europe. Due with us in early April, we should see an improvement in the greens in as little as a week. The 400 Club Committee would like to thank all those who participated in the scheme, buying and selling tickets – this is what the scheme was designed for and we hope that members and guests alike will continue to support the scheme when it launches in July for 2012. (Pic – Kyle Ellison TGC Greenstaff, testing out the roller).

Congratulations to the 400 Club Winners for March – the £650 cash prize went to Jim Nelson, the £250 prize to Clarke McAllister and the £100 to Charles Lynch. Good luck to all ticketholders in April’s draw!

Tandragee Survey Results Published

The results of the recent club survey have been published. While the feedback was generally positive, improvement is required in a number of key areas. Thank you to everyone who completed a form either online or offline, your comments have been collated and forwarded to the relevant convenors who will be looking at the common factors and suggestions as a way forward for the future (see above as example of feedback being acted upon). For anyone who has not seen the results, there are copies posted on the notice board at the gents upstairs and copies are also available in the office for anyone who wants to take a copy away to read.

A few important notes!

Ladies Locker Room – Thanks…

The Ladies Branch has almost completed the long awaited refurbishment of their locker rooms and to date it has been a resounding success. Thanks must go to all the ladies who worked tirelessly to fundraise over recent years. Special thanks to Past Captain Anne Hall, the Ladies Committee and all those involved in applying the finishing touches.

Also a big thanks to Harry Hall and Jim Carson (painting), Maurice & Stephen Whitla (electrics), Matt Laverty (carpentry), Norman McGladdery of Instyle Carpets Banbridge and Captain Malcolm Lynch who all played a significant part in completing the project to a very high standard.

More from the Ladies…

Tandragee hosted the Mid Ulster Alliance Captain’s Day on the 12th March. 54 ladies from 6 different clubs played 16 holes for an array of beautiful prizes put up by the Captain Linda Weir. The worthy winner on the day was Diane Coburn from Portadown. Linda would like to pass on her thanks to the kitchen and bar staff who were great, keeping all fed and watered during the afternoon and beyond!!
