Tree Felling Fundraiser

Good progress has been made in the area of the 17th Fairway and 18th teebox. In addition to the Leylandii trees cut down last year, a further 34 trees have been felled this winter with approximately 8 more remaining. Removal from site is subject to weather conditions and manpower; 5 of these trees are already allocated to members who are on the waiting list. If things go to plan, we should still be able to offer 2 or 3 trees/lots for sale at £40. Those members who are interested and are not already on the office list should register their interest as soon as possible as it is our intention to give members the first option as interest has been shown by some non members. Sunday March 1st is the last date for preferential applications, after this time the lots will be offered to non-members. E-mail [email protected] to express interest.

In addition, there is a quantity of oak and ash which is very heavy, slow-burning with excellent heat output which, I am told, is suitable for use on an open fire or multi fuel stoves. There are 50-70 split and filled bags available at 5 bags for £20. The Leylandii logs which are cut and split ready for use are being sold at 3 bags for £10. Please submit your orders to the office!

All monies raised from the logging project go to Tandragee Golf Club funds. Our thanks go to Geoff Grey who once again has donated hundreds of plastic bags for bagging the logs and Malcolm Lynch for coordinating the project and putting many hard labour hours into transporting, cutting, splitting and bagging.
